Utility Surveys

Service Avoidance

Site Vision Surveys Ltd is a multidiscipline professional surveying company based in the heart of the UK, which provides services for all aspects of the built, transport and civil engineering environments

Service avoidance
Prior to any site investigation taking place it is prudent to search for buried services.
Failure to establish accurate position of any buried utility or other potential hazard is not only detrimental to the costing of a project but has a far more serious implication when considering health and safety issues.
This system reduces the risk our clients may be exposed to when investigating brown and green field sites.
The following quote was taken from the launch of the revised version of HSG47 ‘Avoiding dangers from underground services’.
“So many injuries from incidents involving underground services are avoidable. Often those doing the work come to site ill prepared and don’t observe good digging practices. It’s essential they locate the services by using plans and cable and pipe-locators. Planning the work is essential to minimise the risks during excavation”.
Kevin Myers (HSE’s Chief Inspector of Construction)
“All of our surveys are carried out to the Pas128 and / or RICS standard specification and produced in AutoCAD DWG, PDF, DXF or revit”
